Frequently Asked Questions
WHY CHOOSE KRAH HDPE PIPES?
Krah offers at least 100 years of leak-free, sustainable, flexible, and durable complete pipe systems for your drainage and sewage project piping requirements.
WHAT ARE THE SERVICEABILITY EXPECTATIONS OF KRAH HDPE PIPES?
High-density polyethylene (PE100) and polypropylene are used in the construction of Krah pipes to ensure consistent pipe quality and performance over the course of a century.
WHAT IS THE DELIVERY LENGTH OF KRAH PIPES?
Krah pipes are typically produced in lengths of 6 m, but we can manufacture shorter lengths as needed for your project, and prefabricated pipe lengths of 12 m can be delivered to the construction site to reduce the time needed for installation.
WHAT IS THE RANGE OF DIMENSIONS?
Internal diameters (ID) of Krah pipes can range from DN/ID 300 mm to DN/ID 3500 mm, and they can be produced steplessly at intervals of 100 mm.
WHAT DETERMINES KRAH PIPES' STIFFNESS?
It is possible to produce any required stiffnesses and stiffness classes. SN2-SN16 stiffnesses measured in accordance with ISO 9969. The wall structure is created in accordance with ASTM F894 and local specifications.
HOW DO I JOIN KRAH PIPES? HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE?
Krah pipes use an electrofusion joint socket and spigot to weld two pipes together in 15 minutes, with a cooling time of 30 minutes for the next joint.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF ELECTRO-FUSION JOINTING?
For large diameter pipes, the electro-fusion jointing technique is the most effective pipe connection method because it ensures that the pipes will melt into a homogeneous, monolithic pipe system with a 100% leak-free guarantee.
WILL SUNLIGHT ADVERSELY AFFECT KRAH PIPES?
Krah pipes are made of a black PE pipe compound that is impenetrable to UV rays and atmospheric corrosion. It is UV-resistant and won’t deteriorate even after 100 years of exposure.
HOW ABOUT CHEMICAL RESISTANCE?
As bacteria, mushrooms, and spores cannot grow on polyethylene and polypropylene, the material is immune to all microbial assaults as well as sulfates and sulfurous acid. Polyethylene is very resistant to most acids and lyes chemically.
IS KRAH HDPE PIPES MORE FLEXIBLE THAN OTHER PIPE MATERIAL?
Even when subjected to heavy loads, Krah HDPE pipes are secure against fracture and rarely sustain damage in comparison with rigid pipes. They also have high break elongation.
CAN KRAH PIPES BE USED FOR OUTFALL AND INTAKE PIPELINES?
Krah pipes have a lot of successful reference projects around the world, are 100% applicable for marine applications, and were recently produced and supplied for the Manila Bay Project. However, if project customization requirements arise, we must discuss the required higher stiffness and buckling stability.
DO KRAH PIPES PIPES FLOAT IN WATER?
Yes, for structured wall pipes. Krah pipes are made of polyethylene and polypropylene, and due to being slightly less dense than water, they will float even when they are full of water.
