Upper Chico River Irrigation System – Barucboc, Quezon, Isabela
The Upper Chico River Irrigation System in Barucboc, Quezon, Isabela stands as a cornerstone in agricultural development in Northern Luzon. With the region’s rich farmlands depending on a reliable and consistent water supply, this project was designed to harness the full potential of the Chico River using advanced irrigation infrastructure.
To support this, KPMI supplied Large-Diameter HDPE Pipes with a diameter of 1000 mm, tailored for high-volume irrigation flow. These pipes were selected for their outstanding resistance to both chemical and environmental stress cracking—ensuring optimal durability in agricultural and high-moisture environments.
Unlike traditional pipe materials such as concrete or steel, HDPE offers excellent flexibility, allowing the system to navigate through uneven terrains and seismic zones with reduced risk of cracking or leakage. This enhances the long-term efficiency of water distribution and minimizes maintenance requirements in rural settings.
The lightweight yet high-strength design of the profiled wall pipes enabled rapid installation, even in remote areas, drastically reducing both time and labor costs. By delivering both structural stability and hydraulic efficiency, this project showcases the significant advantages of Large-Diameter HDPE Pipes in modern irrigation systems.
With this system now in place, thousands of hectares of farmland in Isabela are better equipped to thrive, driving food security and economic growth in the region.
