Amidst the hustle and bustle of this tropical paradise, the Samal Shores Hotel & Restaurant stood proud in the Ubi area of Brgy Limao. It was a week like no other, as the people of Samal prepared for the grand opening of this new establishment. The excitement was palpable; guests from near and far anticipated a unique experience blending luxury and local charm.

However, with great beauty comes great responsibility. As the island thrived with tourists, the local government and resort owners recognized the pressing need to ensure that their pristine shores remained untainted by human activity. With the impending grand opening, the hotel management decided to install an efficient sea outfall system to manage wastewater responsibly.

DCCD in partnership with KPMI came equipped with robust HDPE pipes, renowned for their durability and resistance to corrosion, ideal for the coastal conditions of Samal Island. As the team set to work, they dug trenches along the beachfront where the pipes would create a safe pathway for wastewater to flow properly into the sea, far from the beachgoers and marine life.

Samal Island continued to thrive, its resorts bustling yet mindful. The installation of the HDPE pipes was a small yet significant step toward a more sustainable future. As the sun set over the horizon, casting golden rays across the waters, the islanders felt a renewed sense of hope, knowing that they had taken measures to protect their paradise for years to come.
